Foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan exceed $28M

The gross international reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan increased by 1.87 percent in August and amounted to $28.194 billion according to the preliminary data, Trend reports with reference to the Bank.

Furthermore, this sum has decreased by 8.84 percent since the beginning of the year.

“International reserves overall, i.e. including the foreign currency denominated assets of the National Fund ($58.557 billion) equaled $87.751 billion as at the end of August 2019,” the report said.

Net foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan also increased by 1.91 percent since July, having decreased by 8.96 since December 2019, and equaled $27.712 billion.

In turn, the assets in freely convertible currency (CFC) have decreased by 6.36 percent since July (decrease of 42.23 percent since December 2018) and amounted to $9.552 billion. The assets in gold stood at $18.642 billion, which is 6.67 percent more than in July and 29.54 percent more than in December 2018.
