The number of enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan over the eight months of 2019 rose to 9,507, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises with foreign investment increased by 2,799 or 41.7 percent. The bulk of enterprises with foreign capital belong to Russia, Turkey, China, South Korea and Kazakhstan, read the message.
According to the committee, as of September 1, 2019, the city of Tashkent accounts for 5,665 operating enterprises with foreign capital. The regions that are preferable for foreign capital include, apart from the capital, the Tashkent region, where 1,042 enterprises with foreign capital operate, Samarkand - 489 and the Fergana region - 366.
The statistics show that 4,800 enterprises with foreign capital are joint ventures, and 4,707 are foreign entities.
The bulk of the enterprises with foreign capital operate in industry (3,472) and trade (2,290).
In January-August 2019, 2,242 enterprises with the participation of foreign capital were re-created in Uzbekistan. More than 62 percent are located in the capital (1,201) and the Tashkent region (200 enterprises). A significant part again falls on traditional partners - Russia, Turkey, China, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
