EU-funded project in Azerbaijan shows significant progress

The implementation of the project of accelerating the development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in the Azerbaijani districts, which is funded by the EU, has shown significant results, Chairman of board of the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association Jalal Aliyev told Trend.

"The main goal of the project is to create and develop the basis of micro-entrepreneurship to support the creation of new employment opportunities for residents of the districts," Aliyev said.

“The objective of the project of accelerating the development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in the Azerbaijani districts, which is funded by the EU, is the development through rendering financial support for the development of entrepreneurial skills in the economic zones, namely, in Ganja - Gazakh, Guba - Khachmaz, Sheki - Zagatala and Kura - Araz (Aran) to raise awareness of rural micro-entrepreneurs to open and expand the business,” the chairman said.

The implementation of the project of accelerating the development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in the Azerbaijani districts, which is funded by the EU, was launched on September 1, 2019, and will last until February 28, 2021.
