Trade surplus remains positive in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 11

The legal entities and individuals conducted trade operations with partners from 172 countries in Azerbaijan from January through July 2020, Trend reports on Sept. 11 referring to the data from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The products have been exported to 102 countries and have been imported from 160 countries.

The country's foreign trade turnover amounted to $13.8 billion from January through July 2020 (taking into account the statistics value of crude oil and natural gas which are exported by the customs bodies, but customs clearance of which was not fully completed), including $7.9-billion-export and $5.9-billion-import.

As a result, the trade surplus amounted to almost $1.9 billion.

The foreign trade turnover in real prices decreased by 30.9 percent, in real terms - by 22.5 percent, import - by 43.4 percent, export - by 7.1 percent compared to the period from January through July 2019.

At the same time, non-oil products worth $1.03 billion were exported from the country during the reporting period, which in actual prices was 8.6 percent more and in real terms it was 17.1 percent less than in the same period of last year.
