Several projects to be commissioned in Kazakhstan's Turkestan

A total of seven new ventures worth 2.6 billion tenges ($6.09 million) will be commissioned in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region before the end of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the regional communications center.

The projects will be implemented in the regional industrial zone and will provide for 446 new jobs. One of the projects recently commissioned in the industrial zone is the Turkestan Tekstil garment factory. The project implementation cost was 415 million tenges ($973,515).

The industrial zone which currently covers 40 ha of land will in the future be expanded to 350 ha.

Currently, work is underway to create favorable conditions for citizens working in the industrial zone of Turkestan city.

Overall currently nine industrial zones are operating in the Turkestan region in Turkestan and Kentau cities as well as in Ordabasy, Suzak, Tyulkubass, Baidibek, Kazygurt, Shardara, Maktaaral districts.

Eight projects worth 4.3 billion tenges ($10.08 million) were commissioned at the region’s industrial zone in 2019, creating 460 jobs.

Some 1.2 billion tenges ($2.8 million) worth of taxes were paid to the regional budget as a result of the projects’ launch, whereas the total manufacturing output of the region amounted to 6.7 billion tenges ($15.8 million), which is 4 times more than in 2018.
