Chinese companies to process Uzbek garlic for further export to US and European countries

Chinese companies undertake to process Uzbek garlic based on modern technologies for further export to the US and European countries, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and Chinese Anhui Jiaozhijiao Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd, Anhui Ebuy International Co., Ltd, and Linghua Group Co., Ltd, specializing in the cultivation, production, and sale of agricultural products in China, held negotiations in the format of a video conference.

The purpose of the business conversation was to ensure the implementation of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on measures to increase the production and export of garlic and vegetable products.

Chinese businessmen praised the level of development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, land fertility, high quality, environmental friendliness, and exceptional taste of agricultural products grown in the country.

Representatives of Chinese companies expressed their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the cultivation of a special variety of garlic in one of the regions of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, Chinese businessmen were invited to establish work on the territory of the Kashkadarya region, where they will select among local farmers-entrepreneurs with experience in this area.

The parties agreed that the Chinese side, as an initial stage of cooperation, will provide free of charge about 200 tons of a special variety of garlic seeds, necessary fertilizers for growing products, and also send relevant Chinese specialists.

The planting of garlic seeds will be carried out on approximately 70 hectares of land, with a further increase in the cultivated area to 700 hectares in the period 2021-2023.

According to preliminary data from the Chinese side, the total amount of the project will be about $50 million.

After harvesting the garlic, Chinese businessmen undertake to process products based on modern technologies and export them from Uzbekistan to the US and European countries.
