The Iranian President said increasing the prices of goods, especially the essential items are unacceptable.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani obliged the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade to control the market and prevent the increase in prices, Trend reports citing IRNA.
President Hassan Rouhani presented a report on the prices of basic goods and measures are taken to maintain price balance, in the 235th meeting of the government's economic coordination headquarters, on Tuesday.
The supply and demand of cryptocurrencies in the Iranian economy were discussed during the meeting and the Central Bank presented a report on the exchange of cryptocurrencies in Iran.
Regarding the activities of the cryptocurrency miners, the President stressed the need to preserve and protect national interests.
Rouhani stressed the need for public awareness in the cryptocurrency exchanges sector. He said the necessary instructions should be issued.
President Rouhani announced that cryptocurrency mining is strictly prohibited until mid-September. He obliged Ministries of Information and Communication Technology and Energy to deal with the cryptocurrency issue and cut off the electricity of the cryptocurrency farms.
