Goods worth 1.847 billion soums ($174,592) were sold on all trading platforms of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) for the period from June 21 to 27, which is 3.4 percent more than last week, Trend reports referring to UZEX.

According to UZEX, the total volume of transactions involving small businesses and private entrepreneurship amounted to 670 billion soums ($63.3 million). As a result of electronic auctions for public procurement, the total savings of budgetary and corporate customers amounted to 34.2 billion soums ($3.2 million).

It is reported that during the reporting period commodity resources worth 1.623 billion soums ($153,418) were sold at open exchange auctions.

Last week an insignificant decrease in prices was recorded in the prices for sugar. During the past week, 12,790 tons of sugar were put up for sale, of which the entire volume was sold – 100 percent. On average, 149 buyers took part in the exchange trades daily.

During the period under review, the daily average price for sugar of all categories increased by one percent, from 7,650 soums ($0.7233) to 7,704 soums ($0.7284) per ton.

As a result of exchange trading, the weekly weighted average price for local sugar of the third category amounted to 7,716 soums ($0.7296) per ton.

It is reported that prices for cement in the Uzbek exchange market continue to decline despite the growth in demand.

During the past week, 303,029 tons of cement were put up for exchange trades, of which 183,639 tons, or 60.6 percent, were sold. The daily volume of cement sales averaged 36,0700 tons.

During the period under review, the daily average price for cement of all categories decreased from 533,600 soums ($50.44) to 521,000 soums ($49.25), or only by 2.4 percent.
