All border checkpoints between Iran and Afghanistan, including the Milak border checkpoint, are operating, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
Latifi noted that despite the fact that the past two days in Iran were day off, the Milak border checkpoint continued to operate.
The spokesman added that on August 17, 137 trucks passed through this border checkpoint. So, 96 of them left Iran and 4 entered Iran.
“While on August 18, 179 trucks passed through the Milak border checkpoint. So, 100 of them left Iran and 79 entered Iran,” he said.
In addition, 177 trucks passed through this border checkpoint on August 19. Thus, 98 trucks left Iran, while 79 trucks entered Iran over the mentioned day, according to Latifi.
The official emphasized that according to the agreement reached between the two countries, the Milak border checkpoint not operate on Friday.
Reportedly, Iran exported 1.8 million tons of goods worth $728 million to Afghanistan during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021).
