Iran's imports amounted to 3.03 million tons worth $4.29 billion in the 8th month months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, Iran imported 1.15 million tons of goods worth $1.48 billion from the UAE, 306,000 tons worth $1.11 billion from China, 222,000 tons worth $382 million from Turkey, as well as, 37,000 tons worth $168 million from Germany and 91,000 tons worth $73 million from Switzerland over the reporting month.

The official added that the imported goods were mainly mobile phones worth $375 million, wheat worth $261 million, corn worth $187 million, rice worth $83 million, and soybeans worth $71 million.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover for the reporting month amounted to 11.6 million tons worth about $8.32 billion, which is an increase of 27 percent in value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In general, Iran imported 26.5 million tons of goods worth $32 billion during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021). The imports increased by 38 percent in value and 21 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
