Kazakhstan increases oil extraction

The volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan amounted to 7.9 million tons in January 2022, which is 12.6 percent more than during the same month of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Industrial manufacturing in the country increased by 2.9 percent compared to the reporting period of 2020.

Thus, the manufacturing of copper ore amounted to 8.3 million tons, which is 17.1 percent more compared to the reporting month of 2021. Manufacturing of petrol amounted to 0.4 million tons (increase by 0.1 percent).

Manufacturing of Portland cement was 0.5 million tons, which is 3.4 percent less than during the same period of 2020. Manufacturing of metal constructions was 5,800 tons (increase by 1.9 percent), of electricity to 10.7 billion kWh (decrease by 2.2 percent).

The value of products produced in Kazakhstan stood at 3.4 trillion tenge ($7.9 billion) in January 2022, of which 1.8 trillion tenge ($4.2 billion) accounted for the mining industry, and 1.3 trillion tenge ($3.09 billion) for manufacturing.

Production of crude oil and natural gas increased by 12.6 percent, beverages by 24 percent, tobacco products by 18.7 percent, rubber and plastic products by 11.4 percent, pharmaceuticals by 13.1 percent and other non-metallic mineral products by 1.9 percent.

The manufacturing products of light industry went down by 15.9 percent, of chemical industry by 13.4 percent and of metallurgical industry by 3.2 percent.
