BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Iran's non-oil exports to Russia increased by 30.1 percent in value and 70.4 percent in volume for the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported around 1.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $523 million to Russia over seven months.
Meanwhile, in the same period last year, the figure stood at 761,000 tons worth $402 million.
The main exports items were petrochemical products, agricultural products, glassware, industrial products, etc.
In the 7th month alone (September 23 through October 22, 2023), Iran exported 228,000 tons of non-oil products worth $83.1 million to Russia.
Overall, Iran’s overall non-oil exports reached $28.3 billion in value and 79.5 million tons in volume in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023). Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1 percent, while the volume increased by 29.3 percent.
Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
