Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has called upon business circles in the Country that should they wish to be involved in the foreign market, they must advise the Foreign Office of any products manufactured locally, Trend reports. According to Makhmoud Mammadguliyev, Deputy Foreign Minister, the Ministry is prepared to offer assistance in this respect. By the same token, the entrepreneurs should indicate which countries have the highest demand for their products.

At the moment, the main priority and the ultimate goal of the Foreign Ministry is to search for markets to sell local goods and services. We have already appealed to the Azerbaijan Export & Investments Encouragement Fund (AZPROPO) with a request to provide us with a list of merchandise that is produced locally, pointed out Mr. Mammadguliyev.

According to him, it is possible to carry out trade via the Azerbaijani diplomatic representative offices abroad. Today, our Country is represented by its Embassies in practically all the countries. Originally, we witnessed countries of Central Asia as a market to sell our goods. Now, Azerbaijan embassies are expected to be opened in Kyrgyzia and Tajikistan by the end of 2006/early 2007, pointed out the Deputy Foreign Minister.

In addition to Central Asian countries, our goods and services may penetrate countries of the Black Sea Basin where Azerbaijan has its diplomatic representative offices, including CIS countries and the Baltic States. A decision on opening our Embassies in Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand, etc have already been made.
