Aliyev / The cost to implement the 5-year program to develop the Azerbaijani state railways intended to 2007-2011 is assessed at $1.2bln, the chief engineer of the Azerbaijani State Railway, Gurban Nazirov, has stated. The document is presently under government consideration.
Reconstruction of hauling equipment and a fleet of carriages, improvement of power economy and work on the restoration of other infrastructures will be implemented within the framework of the project.
