Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 March /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The selection of core, held in exploratory well in the perspective square Turkan of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), testifies existence of natural gas in the well, the SOCAR stated.
The well is being drilled in measure of Gala. The design depth of the well is 3,800 meters. Currently the depth in the well is 3640 meters. The drilling is being by the Drilling Department 'Apsheron'.
The SOCAR considers the possibility of drilling two exploratory wells in perspective square Turkan. Two productive wells were drilled in this square in mid of the last century. The second exploratory well is also supposed to be drilled this year. Preparations for this have already been completed. One of the well is implied to be drilled at depth of 3,800 meters and other one - 4,000 meters. Assessment of the reserves will be held after completion of the exploration.
