Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 April / Trend / From Jan to March 2008, over 6.3bln KWt/h of electric energy was produced in Azerbaijan against 7bln KWt/h for the same period in 2007. Decrease in the electric energy production was caused by the decrease in use- as a result of installing of electric metres by the subscribers and gas providers in the regions.
Some 5,5 bln KWt/h fell on share of thermal power plant and over 0.8bln KWt/h on water power plant.
In March, Azerenergy OJSC produced about 1.9bln KWt/h of electric energy. Some 1.6bln KWt/h of produced electric energy in March is from thermal power plant and 0.3bln KWt/h - from water power plant.
