Georgia's energy minister denies talks with KazMunayGaz

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 13 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia/

Georgian Energy Minister Aleko Khetaguri did not confirm information about the negotiations with the Kazakh company KazMunaiGas "on Tbilisi's gas distribution network Kaztransgaz - Tbilisi", owned by Kazakh investors.

No negotiating with the Kazakh investors are maintained, the minister told journalists.

The company is still managed by the interim administration appointed by the Commission on Energy.

The reason for this is the company's debt amounting to $80 million. Head of KazMunayGas Kairgeldy Kabyldin told Trend that KazMunayGas was not going to withdraw from Georgia and sell Tbilgaz.

"We are holding talks on economic conditions of our business in Georgia" Kabyldin said.
