SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) has started drilling a new well on onshore "Jafarli" field, SOCAR reported on Nov.13
The new well is 4,050 meters in depth designed. The work on drilling well should be completed in May 2010. The new well is expected to produce 25-30 tons of oil per day.
SOCAR has started drilling a new well on onshore Bibi Heybat field, which is the oldest in Azerbaijan. Its depth is 1,350 meters. Drilling the well is planned to be completed in December 2009. The well is expected to produce 5-7 tons of oil per day.
There are 57 oil and gas fields, with 18 offshore and the rest - onshore. At present, there are 62,000 employees of SOCAR.
