Iran intends to increase capacity of Caspian countries' swap oil supplies

Since the beginning of the year ( the Iranian calendar begins from March 21, 2009) the volume of the Caspian littoral states' swap oil supplies to Iran reached 90,000 barrels per day at an average, Head of administration of the State Oil Pipeline Company of Iran, Hussein Izadi, was quoted as saying by Mehr.  

The Caspian countries' companies deliver oil to Iran, which processes it in its refineries. Instead, they get oil in the Persian Gulf.

Presently, Iran creates for swap supplies of crude oil from the Caspian littoral countries in the volume of 500,000 barrels per day Izadi said.  

According to him, most of the delivered crude oil processed at the Tehran and Tabriz refineries.

Iran will increase the capacity of oil transit with the construction of the Neka-Jask pipeline length 1,680 kilometers, Head of the Iranian State Oil Company's Oil Terminals Management Muhamedrza Muvahhid said.

"Presently, the capacity of the swap oil supplies from the Caspian countries is 200,000 barrels per day" he added.
