Novorossiysk Port decreases oil shipments

The Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped 35.2 million tons of oil in January-October 2010, compared to 37 million tons during the same period last year, the port reported.

Roughly 10.7 million tons of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port oil products were shipped in January- October 2009, compared to over 10.8 million tons during the same period in 2009.

A total of 69.1 million tons of various cargo were transported in January- October 2010, compared to 71.87 million tons during the same period last year.

SOCAR transships its own oil, as well as oil of joint ventures and operating companies operating in Azerbaijan's onshore fields, through Novorossiysk. SOCAR exported over 1.56 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in January-September 2010 compared to over 1.85 million  in January- September 2009, the company said. In September, Azerbaijan exported 85,000 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to about 140,000 million tons in 2009.

In 2009, Azerbaijan pumped 2.5 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 1.2 million tons in 2008. In 2007, about 1.2 tons of oil was transported via this pipeline.
