Iran to sign gas export contract with Iraq in next two months to transfer gas to Iraqi power plants, SHANA reported quoting Head of the Iran's Gas Export Company (IGEC) Hossain Bidarmaghz as saying.

Iran to sign gas export contract with Iraq in next two months to transfer gas to Iraqi power plants, SHANA reported quoting Head of the Iran's Gas Export Company (IGEC) Hossain Bidarmaghz as saying.

" Iran is to export 25 million cubic meters of natural gas per day to Iraq during next one and half year," he said.

He also noted Iran will sign gas export contract with Iraq's oil ministry to export its gas to Europe through Iraqi soil.

The two countries are reviewing construction of three gas pipeline, Iran, Iraq and Syria had recently signed agreed on Iran's gas transit to Europe through so called Islamic gas pipeline.
By these alternatives routes, Turkey is no longer the exclusive way for Iran's gas export to Europe, he added.

Iran has OPEC's second-highest oil output, and ranks second in the world in terms of natural gas reserves after Russia.
