Azerbaijan, Baku, May 7 /Trend E.Ismayilov/

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) pumped about 289.6 million cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan since the beginning of gas pumping season, a source in SOCAR told Trend.

There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan - Kalmaz and Garadagh.

The source noted that 151.05 million cubic meters the total volume of injected gas accounted for Garadagh, and 138.54 million cubic meters for Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.

Currently the volume of gas in underground storage facilities of the country is more than 1.47 billion cubic meters. Approximately 743.84 million cubic meters of this volume accounts for Garadagh, and 729.52 million cubic meters - for Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
As of May 7, daily volume of gas injected into underground storage facilities is 5.83 million cubic meters. Moreover, all the volumes of injected gas to date accounts for Garadagh underground gas storage facility.

As source in SOCAR told Trend previously the volume of gas remaining in the underground facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.19 billion cubic meters after the season of selection. More than 595.85 million cubic meters from the total amount of remaining gas fall to Garadagh and 593.54 million cubic meters to Kalmaz.

Around 3.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped at the end of injection season compared to 3.05 billion cubic meters last year.

Some 1.92 billion cubic meters of gas have been selected from the underground gas storage facilities last season of selection compared to over two billion this year, due to severe weather conditions, which were observed throughout the country during the winter.
