The Uzbek government adopted a resolution which introduces a ban on transit of liquefied gas through the territory of the country by vehicles from Jan.1, 2013.
The document was adopted in order to ensure public safety, public order, life and health of population, environmental protection, the preamble of the resolution says.
Uzbek Foreign Ministry and Automobile and River Transport Agency are instructed to inform transporters about the ban on the transit of liquefied gas by vehicles.
In cases of illegal transit shipment of liquefied gas through the customs territory of the republic, the State Customs Committee and Interior Ministry are allowed to take the appropriate measures by seizing liquefied gas in accordance with the legislation and transfer it to the government income.
