Libya exports 379.5 MN barrels of oil in 2012

Libya exported 379.5 million barrels of oil in 2012, a report of the Libyan National Oil Company published on its official website said today.

During this period, most of Libya's oil was exported to Italy - 139.8 million barrels (36.8 percent of total export), China - 48.2 million barrels (12 percent), France - 46.8 million barrels (11 percent).

During the reporting period, Libya exported 5.3 million barrels of oil (1.2 percent) to Turkey. In general, Libya exports oil to 24 countries.

Around 52.6 million barrels were supplied for the needs of the Libyan domestic market.
Libya ranks eighth in terms of oil production volume among the 12 member states of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and third in Africa after Nigeria and Angola.

Libya's proven oil reserves amount to 45 billion barrels.
Libya was extracting 1.5 million barrels of oil per day before the revolution. Libyan oil exports have been launched since 2012.
