Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Meteorology and Patent will approve the first national standards for the new oil and gas processing and petrochemical complex (OGPC) in the near future, the committee told Trend on Jan.24.
About 50 new standards necessary for the creation of a new complex in the country, will be approved in the near future, the committee said.
"The work on preparation of new national standards for the complex continues and it is expected to approve several of them soon," the state committee said.
The standards which are planned to be applied during the construction and commissioning of a new complex are being worked out on the basis of the agreement signed between Azerbaijani Institute of Standardization and Certification under the State Committee and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
The time of implementation of the first stage of the project is two years. The total time of the implementation of the project is eight years.
The complex will be located in 60 kilometers from Baku and will include three processing enterprises and a thermal power plant (TPP).
