Georgian Telasi company sums up results of 2019

The volume of investments made by Georgian Telasi electricity distribution company in manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors will amount to 36.6 million lari ($12.7 million) in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the company's report.

Some 10.7 million lari ($3.7 million) of this amount is provided for the implementation of projects for technical re-equipment, reconstruction and overhaul, and 25.9 million lari ($9 million) for the implementation of projects to connect new subscribers and expand the network.

In 2019, the Telasi company carried out work on the maintenance, technical re-equipment, reconstruction and modernization of the electricity network. In particular, preventive work was carried out at 623 transformer substations and central distribution points; obsolete equipment was replaced at 115 transformer substations, and 29 power transformers were repaired.

In addition, 32.2 km of new overhead power lines and more than 100 km of cable power lines with a voltage of 10/6/0.4 kV were laid.

During the year, reconstruction and modernization of the high-voltage substations Digomi-1 and Saburtalo-3, as well as overhead power transmission lines Saburtalo1-2-3-4 and Mahata were carried out.

In November this year, a project was completed to replace the 35-kilovolt overhead power lines Saburtalo-1 and Saburtalo-3 with cable lines. As part of the project, a new 2.9 km-long cable route was laid, while the existing overhead lines and 15 support towers were dismantled.

The company also implemented a project to increase the reliability of power supply at Tbilisi International Airport. As part of the project, Telasi built and commissioned a new 8.3-kilometer 35-kilovolt cable transmission line from Navtlugi-220 substation to Airport substation. At the substation, current and voltage transformers, new vacuum circuit breakers and disconnectors of a modern type were installed.

According to the data for 11 months of 2019, the number of technical incidents in the network decreased by 5.4 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

For 11 months of 2019, Telasi purchased more than 2.6 billion kWh of electricity.

The priority of Telasi JSC’s work in the future will be to ensure sustainable development of the company through the implementation of programs for the construction, rehabilitation and modernization of the distribution network, as well as to improve the quality of customer service.

In 2020, Telasi plans to invest more than 40 million lari ($13.9 million) in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors.

JSC Telasi is one of the largest electricity distribution companies in Georgia, which distributes electricity in Tbilisi. The company supplies electricity to more than 600,000 consumers.
