National Iranian South Oil Company to increase production

National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) drilled the first well as part of the company's plan to maintain and increase the production of 28 fields has begun, Ahmad Mohammadi, Managing Director of NISOC, Trend reports citing the website of NISOC.

According to Mohammadi, well No. 6 of the Kabud oil field at the Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran has been producing 1,000 barrels of crude oil per day since April 8.

The managing director added that obtaining new information about the Kabud field, exploration of oil production potential from this field, compliance with environmental regulations, transfer of the experience gained by NISOC in this area to the Iranian oil sector are the successes associated with the commissioning of this well.

According to the program for the first half of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to September 21, 2020), progress will be made in maintaining and increasing production in the Ahvaz, Mansouri, Gachsaran and Maroon fields," he said.

The Kabud oil field is located in the Andimeshk county of Khuzestan province. This oil field was discovered in 1971 and production began in 2004. The field contains 40 million barrels of crude oil and produces 12,000 barrels of oil per day.
