A gas compressor piston balance (GC/355/8) equipment was designed and manufactured for the first time in Iran at the Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company (AOGPC) of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, said Ebrahim Piramoon, the company’s managing director, Trend reports citing the official website of the company.
According to Piramoon, this equipment is manufactured on the basis of high technology and special metallurgy.
Piramoon added that given the importance of the gas injection station in oil and gas production, the company is implementing a program to manufacture this equipment.
The official said that after the equipment was produced, the compressor was installed at the Karanj oil field.
Piramoon said that with the commissioning of this compressor, 14.1 million cubic meters (500 million cubic feet) of gas per day can be pumped into the Karanj field.
AOGPC produces 615,000 barrels of light and heavy oil a day from eight oil fields. Subordinate to the National Iranian South Oil Company, AOGPC supplies fuel to domestic refineries and exports the remaining amount.
The Karanj oil field produces 127,000 barrels of oil and 2.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.
