Uzbekistan carries our construction and commissioning of gas pipeline to supply fuel from Uzbek Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex to Uzbekistan GTL (gas-to-liquids) plant, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz company.

At present, works on installation and compaction of gas pipeline are carried out in accordance with schedule, and tests are planned to be conducted.

“Preparatory activities are carried out to put the fuel gas pipeline into operation, and work on the improvement of its external territories has begun,” the message said.

Construction of Uzbekistan's first GTL plant in Kashkadarya region is completed by 90 percent.

The total cost of the project is $3.6 billion, of which $2.3 billion is allocated by a consortium of international financial institutions, $740 million - by Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund, and $570 million - by Uzbekneftegaz’s own funds.

Uzbekistan GTL will be one of the most innovative manufacturing enterprises in the region, which will allow expanding the capacity for deep processing of natural gas, reduce the import of hydrocarbons, meet the country's needs for modern, high-quality and environmentally friendly fuel, as well as provide the market with strategic products manufactured from its own raw materials.

It is planned to complete the construction of Uzbekistan GTL plant by the end of 2020, and at the moment, a number of technological units of the plant have already started pre-commissioning works.
