Uzbekistan notes decrease in mining production

The volume of goods produced in the mining and quarrying industry of Uzbekistan in January 2021 in value terms amounted to 3.2 trillion soums ($303 million), Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee 12 percent of the total industrial output during the reported period accounted for mining and quarrying industry of Uzbekistan.

In addition, according to the last years indicators, the volume of goods produced in the mining and quarrying industry of Uzbekistan in value terms decreased by 0.7 trillion soums ($66 million).

Earlier it was reported that the physical volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan in January 2021 decreased by 1.2 percent.

Last month, the volume of industry production in value terms amounted to 26.8 trillion soums ($2.5 billion), while the physical volume of industrial production fell by 0.2 percent in the mining industry and by 2.2 percent in the manufacturing industry.

In general, the country produced 4.77 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 4.35 percent less than in January 2020.

At the same time, coal production in Uzbekistan in January 2021 fell to 287,700 tons, or by 25.2 percent. It is noted that oil production reached increased by almost five percent, or 59,700 tons.
