By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Electricity generation of Shahid Mofateh Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the Hamadan Province (western Iran) increased by 10 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Director of Shahid Mofateh Power Generation Management Company Pejman Akhtari said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

The deputy director noted that within 6 months, the Shahid Mofateh TPP generated 3.85 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.

“The thermal power plant has met about 7 percent of Iran's electricity needs in the summer. Timely repairs of the TPP's units at the beginning of the current Iranian year have resulted in an increase in electricity generation of the power plant in this summer,” Akhtari added.

Reportedly, the Shahid Mofateh TPP was put into operation in 1993 on an area of 270 hectares. The electricity generation of the capacity of the power plant is 1,000 megawatt-hours. The TPP has 4 steam units, with a capacity to generate 250 megawatt-hours of electricity each.
