BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 1

Trend:

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Trend reports.

During the meeting, Tokayev pointed out the inadmissibility of the current situation in the domestic market of fuels and lubricants and criticized the work of the structures which allowed a sharp decrease in the domestic fuel reserves.

The president drew attention to the need for uninterrupted supply of electricity to industrial enterprises and the population, as well as the creation of additional generating capacities.

Mirzagaliyev informed about urgent measures taken to replenish the deficit. So, the repair period at the Atyrau refinery was postponed to 2022. Besides, negotiations were held with the Ministry of Energy of Russia, as a result of which about 150,000 tons of diesel fuel were imported from the neighboring country.

According to Magzum Mirzagaliyev, the situation is currently stabilizing.
