Spanish Enagas company is actively working on the ecological transition and promoting different projects related with renewable gases; efficiency; sustainable mobility and innovation, the company told Trend.
Renewable gases and hydrogen will be a growth driver for all European TSOs (Transmission System Operators).
“Gas networks are important in order to reach an efficient energy transition as gas infrastructures play a fundamental role in decarbonisation by taking advantage of existing facilities to transport and promote renewable gases across Spain and Europe,” said the company.
Enagas believes that the private-public partnership and European Next Generation Funds are essential for most of these projects becoming viable.
“Our 2020 carbon footprint has been 209,968 t CO2e (scopes 1 and 2) and 215,891 t CO2e (scope 3). We have reduced our carbon footprint (scopes 1 and 2) by 63 percent since 2014. This has been possible because we have a very solid technical plan with more than 50 energy efficiency projects launched annually.”
