On the decree of the SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev Department of Geology and Geophysics at the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) was set up, SOCAR told Trend.
According to the SOCAR spokesman, this Department is established based on “Geophysics and Engineering Geology” Producing Unit (PU), part of the SOCAR Azneft PU. The Department will operate legally from 1 January 2006. The Department will be part of SOCAR.
The SOCAR spokesman noted, the Department of social development” has been established based on the “Department of social services” at the company and assigned to the State Oil Company.
The “Security” Department, established on the basis of “The paramilitary guard group” is also assigned to SOCAR, earlier part of SOCAR Azneft PU.
