Georgia simplifies method of payment for use of railway by forwarders

Oil&Gas Materials 27 February 2006 13:19 (UTC +04:00)

From 1 April 2006 forwarders will pay a single tariff instead of 20 different charges for transportation of any cargo through the Georgian railway, Trend reports referring to a news release by the Georgian Railway Department.

Georgia would determine a single handling charge at the current stations of the Georgian Railway Department and service center. Simplified calculation will allow forwarders to save time and set cooperation with the Railway Department. Complex charge will improve the work of the railway stations and services on transportation of cargo, the message says.

It is also planned to establish single database, which will be profitable for transportation companies and forwarders. Cooperation between the Railway Department and partner organizations through electron network will promote application of modern interactions and simplification of procedures.
