Today Р'Р representatives have summarized archeological program within construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasian Pipeline, Trend reports. Chris Paulglaice, project coordinator, said major archeological discoveries have been made during the operations. In particular, mounds were revealed that have been created much before those in the northern part of the republic.
Coordinator said such archeological study is really unmatched in the world. In general, large-scale researches have not been conducted in Azerbaijan for over 15 years. The current researches may be compared to those performed nearly half century back.
During the excavations, lots of mounds, household items and ancient villages have been discovered. All obtained materials upon their estimation are sent to the Archeology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
