AIOC awaits to renew oil production in Chirag field within near 24 hours

The oil production from platform Chirag in Azerbaijan sector of Caspian Sea will be renewed within near 24 hours, Trend reports with reference to BP-Azerbaijan, which is the operator of Azerbaijan International Operation Company.

According to information provided by the company, it was decided to change the components of the battery system in the platform. These works had to be realized earlier. However, on Friday the platform was stopped for technical reasons and therefore, it was decided to change the components now so that it works in uninterrupted duty in the future, told by the company.

Energy supply of the platform was stopped on July 14 and renewed on July 15. It had no impact on oil production in other platforms Central Azeri and Western Azeri, exportation of oil through pipelines and work of terminal Sangachal.

In January-June, Azerbaijan International Operation Company has produced 3,703 mln tones of oil in Chirag field, but 3,492 mln t. in January-June 2005. In June 2006, the oil production in Chirag was reported at 618,853 thousand t., but 642,29 th. t. in May 2006.
