BP Georgia Company categorically refuted the information disseminated by the international ecological organization Platform on the issue that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is threatened by the corrosion of the pipes.
The company carries our regular monitoring on the composition of the oil and the condition of the pipeline, and there is no sign of corrosion, the special correspondent of Trend in Tbilisi has been told in Р'Р Georgia.
According to the information provided by the company, the electronic devices installed on BTC allow to define the inner and outer situation of the pipeline. Special high-qualitative corrosion inhibitors are used to prevent the corrosion.
All possible risks have been taken into consideration during the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. The projecting and construction of BTC were implemented on base of newly achieved high standards, the same source told.
