Northern Power, a subsidiary of Distributed Energy Systems Corp. has gained a contract on installation of power plants in the emergency drain-down system along the pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) in the place named Kodiana in Georgia, Trend reports referring to the message spread by Northern Power.
This is the third contract signed between Northern Power and Р'РўРЎ РЎРѕ, and the above-mentioned system will be 39th in the whole pipeline along.
Michael Brennan, Vice-President of Northern power said that the emergency drain-down system was created by the Georgian Government to protect the environment. The power sustem we designed will play an important role in the environment protection issue in this section of the pipeline, he pointed out.
The BTC pipeline capacity is 50 m. tons per year. The Azerbaijani Azeri Light crude is exported via the pipeline to the Turkish Port Ceyhan from the Azerbaijani oil field Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli.
