Corporate deposits drop in Kazakhstan

The volume of corporate deposits in second tier banks of Kazakhstan amounted to 8.05 trillion tenge in May 2019, which is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to April and of 2.7 percent compared to the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to Ranking.

Corporate deposits of ForteBank increased by 9 percent in a month and amounted to 587.7 billion tenge. Furthermore, percentage of legal persons' deposits in the deposits portfolio amounted to 52.9 percent. Overall, the volume of bank’s deposits increased by 4.5 percent and amounted to 1.1 trillion tenge.

Corporate deposits of Citibank, the subsidiary of Citigroup Inc, increased by 8.4 percent in a month and equaled to 547.8 billion tenge. This volume increased by 1.7 percent since the beginning of the year. The bank works solely with corporate clients.

Corporate deposits of Alfa Bank and of Altyn Bank also increased by four and 1.7 percent respectively. In May, the volume of corporate deposits of Alfa Bank amounted to 185.3 billion tenge and of Altyn Bank to 253.8 billion tenge.

The percentage of legal persons' deposits in portfolio of deposits amounts to 67.4 percent for Alfa Bank and to 71.7 percent for Altyn Bank.

By the end of 2018, the percentage of deposits in total volume of banking liabilities amounted to 76.7 percent in 2018. The percentage of corporate deposits in banking liabilities amounted to 37.2 percent in 2018 compared to 40 percent in 2017 and 42.9 percent in 2010.
