Turkmenistan's retail sales volume increases

Turkmenistan's retail sales volume has increased, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via videconference, where the results of country's national economy for four months of the current year were summed up.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Gadyrgeldy Mushshikov spoke about the country's macroeconomic situation from January through April of 2020.

During the reporting period, the country's GDP growth rate was 6.3 percent. Compared to the same period of last year, the retail sales volume increased by 19.8 percent, and foreign trade turnover – by 1.5 percent. The state budget revenue from January through April was exceeded by 4 percent, and expenditure - by 95.5 percent.

The volume of capital investments from all sources of financing amounted to 7.3 billion manat (over $2 billion).

During this period, 107 social facilities, 35 water treatment complexes, more than 220,200 square meters of housing, as well as engineering systems were built. A total of 845.6 million manat ($241.1 million) was spent.
