The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached $12.9 billion in the period from January through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In the comparison with the similar period of 2019, foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased by $2.4 billion.
From the total volume of foreign trade turnover, exports have reached $5.1 billion (compared to the same period of 2020, a decrease of 15.6 percent), and imports - $7.8 billion (a decrease of 16.1 percent).
State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan recorded passive balance of foreign trade turnover in the amount of $2.6 billion.
Machinery and transport equipment (37.1 percent), industrial goods (16.5 percent), as well as chemicals and chemical products (13.3 percent) account for the major share in the structure of imports.
In the export structure, 82.9 percent are mainly industrial goods (18 percent), food products (8.2 percent), mineral fuels, lubricants and materials (7.5 percent).
