Azerbaijan exported products worth a total of $6.9 billion from January through May 2020, which is 19.1 percent less compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the report of the country’s State Customs Committee (SCC).
The public sector's share in exports amounted to $3.4 billion, which makes about 49.5 percent of the total export. The share of the private sector (legal entities) is $3.5 million, or 50.2 percent of the total export. Individuals accounted for the remaining $25.2 million.
In total, Azerbaijan exported 2,050 and imported 6,691 types of goods, conducting foreign trade operations with 166 partner countries. Most of all, from January through May 2020, Azerbaijan exported oil and petroleum products, electricity, fruits and vegetables, as well as products of the chemical industry.
