Uzbekistan spent s over $6.1 billion worth of economic support to the population, economic sectors and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Trend reports citing the data of Yuksalish nationwide movement.
As of July 9, 2020, the total value of measures introduced to support the population, economic sectors and businesses during the coronavirus pandemic was estimated at 62.5 trillion soum (more than $6.1 billion).
Expenditures of the Anti-Crisis Fund under the Ministry of Finance made up 5.2 trillion soum ($508 million).
Tax and customs privileges exceeded 1.6 trillion soum ($156.3 million), deferred taxes and suspension of penalties - 2.5 trillion soum ($244.2 million).
Support measures in banking sector made up 48.2 trillion soum ($4.7 billion).
The Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan directed 3.3 trillion soum ($322.4 million) to finance "Every Family - entrepreneur" program and opening a credit line for the development of services.
A total of 1.6 trillion soum ($156.3 million) was allocated to support real sector of economy, while a total of 1.7 trillion soum ($166.1 million) was allocated to fight the spread of coronovirus infection in Uzbekistan.
With decrees and resolutions of the president of Uzbekistan, 500,000 entrepreneurs and over eight million citizens received privileges and preferences worth about 30 trillion soum ($2.9 billion), the message said.
About 230,000 unemployed people were provided with temporary employment at the expense of the Public Works Fund of Uzbekistan, the message said.
Also, 374,000 citizens were provided with employment for three months. About 27,000 unemployed were paid benefits worth 10 billion soum ($977,040).
