Number of non-cash payments made in Turkmenistan increased

The number of non-cash payments made in Turkmenistan using ATMs, terminals, Internet banking services, mobile banking, and e-commerce systems increased by 2.86 times from January through September 2020, compared to the same indicator last year, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

Turkmenistan is actively implementing digital technologies in the country's banking system.

Digital reforms contribute to the expansion of banking services and the capabilities of the national payment system, as well as increase the competitiveness of national banks.

So, the State Commercial Bank 'Turkmenistan' introduced a new "Owerdraft" bank card, with which holders of the Altyn asyr Bank card can get a short-term loan from the bank.

As reported, the introduction of digital technologies into the banking sector of the country will expand the range of banking services and the capabilities of the national payment system provided to customers, as well as increase the competitiveness of credit institutions.

In general, the country's financial sector is constantly expanding. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to pay for various services and goods, the number of non-cash payments is increasing, and payment for goods and services is being implemented through banking terminals.
