Iranian banks issue big loans in services sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 3.71 quadrillion rials (about $88.5 billion) in the services sector during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 401 trillion rials (about $9.56 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.54 quadrillion rials (about $60.4 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the five months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 27.9 trillion rials (about $665 million) were issued for repair work and 372 trillion rials (about $8.86 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 17.5 trillion rials (about $417 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 19.9 trillion rials (about $474 million) for the purchase of housing, and 337 trillion rials (about $8.02 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

Iranian banks issued loans worth about 9 quadrillion rials (about $214 billion) in various economic sectors in the first four months of the current Iranian year. This figure stood at 3.05 quadrillion rials (about $72.7 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
