Azerbaijan's state budget revenues from privatization of state property surge

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. The state budget of Azerbaijan received 95.5 million manat ($56.18 million) from the privatization of state property from January through September 2023, Trend reports.

The data from the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan showed that in the reporting period, budget revenues grew by 1.8 times year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the service held 43 auctions on the privatization of state property. The auctions saw the privatization of shares of nine joint-stock companies, 13 small state-owned enterprises, three unfinished buildings, and 382 vehicles.

In addition, the service's data revealed that 206 electronic applications for state property (put up for auction) were received, and 44 online connections were made through the Electronic Auction program during the first nine months of this year.

At the same time, 10.4 million manat ($6.1 million) was invested in privatized enterprises through investment competitions, and 221 jobs were created at enterprises that fulfilled contractual obligations.

The state budget of Azerbaijan received 115.4 million manat ($67.9 million) from the privatization of state property (an increase of 2.4 percent) in 2022.
