Azerbaijan boosts nationwide household lending volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The volume of loans issued to households (the top lending sector with 57 percent) in Azerbaijan grew as of April 30, 2024, Trend reports.

Data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows that this figure amounted to 14.8 billion manat ($8.7 billion), up 2.7 billion manat ($1.6 billion), or 22.64 percent (from 12 billion manat or $7 billion as of April 30, 2023).

Meanwhile, crediting in the trade and services sector increased by 426 million manat ($250.6 million), or 12.75 percent, to 3.8 billion manat ($2.2 billion) against 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion) in the same period last year.

The share of the trade and services sector in the total volume of lending amounted to 14.5 percent.

To note, crediting of the real sector of Azerbaijan's economy as of April 30, 2024, as a whole increased by 28.26 percent, or 5.7 billion manat ($3.3 billion), compared to the same period in 2023 (from 20.2 billion manat or $12 billion) to 26 billion manat ($15 billion).
