ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 28. The total funds on settlement, current accounts, and deposits of enterprises, organizations, and the population in banks of Turkmenistan as of April 1 this year reached 44.4 billion Turkmen manat, which is equivalent to $12.6 billion, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, these data are 16 percent higher than the same indicator in 2023 (38.2 billion Turkmen manat, or $10.9 billion).
The finances of state-owned enterprises and organizations amounted to 28.7 billion Turkmen manat ($8.2 billion), or 12.6 percent more than on April 1, 2023 (24.1 billion Turkmen manat, or $6.9 billion).
At the same time, the funds of enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and the population amounted to 15.6 billion Turkmen manat ($4.4 billion), which is 10 percent more than on the same date in 2023 (14.1 billion Turkmen manat or $4 billion).
Funds of individuals and entrepreneurs without legal entity formation in banks of Turkmenistan amounted to 4.5 billion Turkmen manat ($1.2 billion), which is almost 10 percent more than on April 1, 2023 (4.1 billion Turkmen manat or $1.1 billion).
As per the records of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the established official exchange rate for the Turkmen manat against the US dollar on May 28, 2024, stands at 3.5 manat per USD.
