Israeli IT Company to Study Azerbaijani Market to Open Its Branch

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 March / corr. Trend S. Babayeva/ It is important to encourge Israeli investmensts in the IT market of Azerbaijan and to cooperate within the framework the joint programs, said Ali Abbasov, minister of communication and information technologies of Azerbaijan during his meeting with Michael Zinderman, the President of Ness Israel (included in the Ness Technologies) and Arthur Lenk, ambassdor of Israel to Azerbaijan.

"There is small number of Israeli companies in Azerbaijan and both countries should develop a cooperation," the minister said.

According to Israeli Ambassador, the companies of his country are interested in the access to the Azerbaijani IT market and one of these companies is Ness Israel specialized in IT products.

It was mentioned during the meeting that Ness Israel will send a group of specialists to Azerbaijan to study the market of information technologies, to determine the demand of the country and consider the possibility of opening branches.

The IT minister Ali Abbasov earlier said that the second Azerbaijan-Israel forum on information technologies may be held this year in Israel. The third forum is not ruled out to be held within the Azerbaijan-California-Israel cooperation. The State of California is expected to host the third meeting.

The first Azerbaijan-Israel forum on IT was held on 26 June 2007 in Baku with 9 Israeli and some 30 Azerbaijani companies attending it.

Azerbaijan and Israel plan to strengthen cooperation in IT field by signing agreement between the relevant state bodies. The document is being developed currently.
